Antistatic နှင့် ESD antistatic standard အကြားခြားနားချက်များ

We often confuse the terms ESD and antistatic although the terms ‘antistatic’ and ESD both refer to electrical resistance. However, there are still basic differences, let's find out about this issue with APT Vietnam!

What is antistatic?

Antistatic means the use of conductive materials with resistances that allow the electrical charges to be dispersed, or to bring them down to the system and ground to protect the product from short-circuiting agents, fire and explosion.

What is the ESD standard for antistatic?

Antistatic standard is also known as the ESD standard. ESD stands for Electrostatic Discharge. Antistatic paint is a paint that reduces the harmful effects of electrostatic discharge by slowly discharging high voltage up to thousands of Volts through ESD STM standard resistive devices. S7. 1-2005 is between 10^4 – 10^ 9Ω.

This means that epoxy coatings that meet ESD standards are always antistatic, but not all antistatic paints meet ESD standards.

For example, if the measured contact resistance is 10^ 3Ω, it is an antistatic coating but does not meet ESD requirements. However, if the measured resistance is 10^5Ω, then the Epoxy coating is antistatic and meets ESD standards.

Therefore, investors and factories should pay attention when choosing epoxy antistatic paint to ensure quality and safety in the factory.
